Vals Quartzite for a home with enduring character
A few years ago, we had the pleasure of supplying Vals Quartzite for this private residence in Switzerland. The natural stone was used throughout both the exterior and interior of the building.
Outside, floor slabs in random lengths with a coarse ground finish were installed around the house. Inside, the stone was used for both the floors and the walls. The floor slabs were also laid in random lengths, but with a finer ground finish (C320).
A particular highlight is the wall cladding. The varying depths of the layered masonry create a striking interplay of light and shadow, giving the wall a distinctive three dimensional appearance. More about the project

Vals Quartzite is used in a variety of applications throughout this project. Outside, the house is surrounded by coarse ground floor slabs. Inside, the finely ground floor slabs create a striking contrast with the specially crafted layered masonry, whose varying depths give the walls a distinctive texture.
Vals Quartzite also features prominently in the bathrooms, where it is used for both the floors and the walls, creating a harmonious and timeless overall appearance.
