The exterior façade features Vals Quartzite in the form of split layered stone masonry. Framed by generous glass façades, the horizontally layered stone from the Valsertal stands out as a bold and natural architectural element. The exposed split surfaces give the façade a vibrant texture, revealing the original character of Vals Quartzite.

This material language continues consistently throughout the interior. Split layered stone masonry shapes the living spaces as well as the carefully designed bathrooms. The bespoke washbasins and the bathtub, crafted from Vals Stone, are equally unique.

In the kitchen, the natural stone is carried through with the same consistency: the kitchen fronts, countertop and dining table are all crafted from Vals Quartzite.

The building is used as a private residence.

Characteristics & solutions

The interplay between expansive glazing and split layered stone masonry gives the house its distinctive character. A remarkable detail is the delicate bathroom cabinetry, where only a few millimetres of Vals Quartzite are bonded to a lightweight backing material, combining the appearance of solid stone with refined construction.
